Sitos Commodities (Amsterdam) B.V. offers a wide range of logistical services focusing mainly on commodities such as cocoa, coffee and dried fruits. They handle over 220,000 tonnes of products.

Through our close proximity to the main container terminals Sitos Amsterdam has low transport cost from and to these terminals.

From 1st of July 2009 Sitos Amsterdam will participate in an inland barge connection right next to its premises on the waterfront in the Madagascar haven, operated by SCS multiport, connecting Amsterdam to Antwerp and Rotterdam over water which is more environmentally friendly but also more cost efficient.

Another activity is cleaning cocoa beans ready for processing. Sitos Amsterdam delivers to all destinations in Europe and also takes care of overseas shipments.

Sitos Amsterdam is a LIFFE approved warehousing company for cocoa and coffee.

Furthermore Sitos Amsterdam is a licensed warehousing company to handle organic commodities (SKAL License Number 022953) and since last year also licensed by USDA (NOP).

Sitos Amsterdam is HACCP certified and is also certified by the American Institute of Baking (AIB)

Sitos Amsterdam runs a joint operation with EcO2 B.V. Numansdorp. This joint operation is specialized in environmentally friendly pest control in food supplies. As opposed to any other company, Sitos Amsterdam does not use any toxic gasses. The techniques are all developed in co-operation with the "Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment" and the Organization for Applied Scientific Research. The techniques are environmentally friendly, have a 99,997% mortality rate, and are safe for people. Besides that, there are no troublesome effects of resistant pests (as when using toxins) and after treatment, no residues will be left behind on the product. The techniques are all developed by EcO2 specialists.

Sitos Amsterdam operates a number of decontamination chambers based on the EcO2 Controlled Atmosphere technique. Since January 2009, eight new chambers of the second generation have become operational with lower cost and more energy efficient and almost halving the treatment time. Products that can be treated with the Controlled Atmosphere technique including grain, nuts, spices, seeds, dried fruits, cocoa beans, coffee beans, tobacco, feed, rice, maize and pulses.

The EcO2 techniques do not leave any residues on the products.
